Designed with an investigative motif, Writing Works 2.0 sets students on the trail of learning language arts while experiencing a broad array of topics, tales, and trailblazing celebrities. Traipsing along with the likes of Nikola Tesla, students track vexing vocabulary, crack critique codes, and demystify puzzling punctuation! Whether sheltering in the safehouses of the Underground Railroad with Harriet Tubman or hoisting the sails of the Endurance with Ernest Shackleton’s crew exploring Antarctic, Writing Works 2.0 students learn to communicate with clarity and confidence. Live and interactive, this class features all nine units of IEW’s Structure and Style™ methodology and pairs it with both the award-winning Fix-It! Grammar and Wordly Wise 3000 vocabulary series to incrementally build students’ grammar and vocabulary skills within the context of writing.

Complimenting students' composition skills is a classic short story collection selected for ennobling students’ moral imagination and enhancing their enjoyment of virtuous literature. Socratic discussion guides and short story packets provided for each of the eight short stories promote students’ comprehension, develop students’ annotation and literary analysis skills, and challenge students’ understanding of how the work reflects the author’s worldview. With each classic story, students learn to celebrate beauty, identify virtues, and discern consequences.
